Is anything on your shelf priced above the NPPA ceiling?
Upload your stock list from Marg, GoFrugal, Tally or Excel, exactly as it comes out. In about a minute you see how many items are price-controlled and how many are above the ceiling. No signup.
Your file is checked in memory and not stored.
Which file to upload
- Closing stock or stock summary from your billing software, saved as Excel or CSV. Do not rename columns; we read Product name, Packing, MRP and Qty as they are.
- A composition or content column, if your software has one, makes the match exact without reading the brand name.
- Pack size ("15 TAB", "10'S") is what turns "possibly" into a definite answer.
Questions chemists ask
Is a chemist responsible for the ceiling price, or only the manufacturer?
Both. DPCO 2013 paragraph 26 says no person shall sell a formulation to a consumer above the price in the current price list or the price on the label, whichever is less, and "dealer" in the Order includes retailers. Paragraph 24(4) also requires every retailer to display the price list. Since the 30 June 2026 amendment (S.O. 3516(E)), a manufacturer that sent the revised price list on time can limit its liability to the stock traded by the retailer found overcharging.
When do ceiling prices change?
Every 1 April, by the wholesale price index (DPCO 2013 paragraph 16): +0.65% for 2026, notified on 25 March 2026. NPPA also fixes and revises individual ceilings through the year, usually several notifications a month.
How do you read brand names like "TAB AMLONG 10"?
We look the brand up in a public list of Indian medicines to find its molecule and strength, then match that to NPPA's ceiling for the same form. Only exact matches count; anything we cannot read is reported as "not identified", never guessed. Treat a match as our reading of the brand, and confirm it against the pack.
Why are some items only "possibly" above the ceiling?
NPPA quotes most ceilings per tablet or per ml, so the comparison needs the pack size. When your file does not say it (a Packing column of "1" is common), or the item would be above only at 5% GST, we say "possibly" instead of claiming a breach.
Do you keep my file?
No. The file is read in memory to produce the counts on this page and is not saved. If you ask for the summary by email, only the counts are sent.
